Clevis Hanger
A type of pipe support used to suspend pipes from ceilings or overhead structures. It consists of a U-shaped metal bracket (the clevis) with a bolt or pin that holds the pipe securely in place. Typically made from steel or stainless steel, clevis hangers provide strong vertical support while allowing slight movement due to thermal expansion or vibration. They are commonly used in plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems to suspend PVC, steel, or copper pipes from beams, joists, or other structural elements, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
