Bar Hinges

Bar hinges (also called strap hinges or sometimes gate hinges) are long, heavy-duty hinges designed to support large, heavy doors, gates, or panels.
 
What they are
A bar hinge has a long flat strap on one or both sides of the hinge pin. This long “arm” spreads the load over a wider area, making it stronger than regular small hinges.
